Visiting Medieval Buena Park & The Defective Geeks Party
by Yume Ninja-Sovereign | March 17th, 2012
For some time now, I had talked to Amelia about going down to Buena Park and experiencing the cheesy magic that is ‘Medieval Times’.

Since we’re all fans of over the top theme restaurants, we decided to make this a reality before Amelia went back to London.

Amy, Amelia, Kevin, Val, Alcuin, and Myself headed out to Buena Park; that’s the nearest castle. Lumi, also just returned to LA so we invited her out.
Look at our cool hats.
We got sorted into the Black & White knight, which made me a bit sad because the Yellow & Black Knight was super duper hot! D: Like Jon Snow hot! I secretly cheered for him.
Give me a man with armor on horseback any day (even if it’s not real!).

I’ve only been to Medieval Times once before, and now they have a totally different show (and knights). For all of its cheesy-bad-accent-glory, I love it.

This was the enormous portions of food we each got. I barely finished a rib and the soup.
After the titillating show, you get to schmooze, booze, and browse the gift shop. It’s always fun to see what souvenirs you can find at theme restaurants.

It was both Amelia and Val’s first time at Medieval Times, so we really tried to make sure to be extra silly.

At one point, there was a hilarious ‘Knight Club’ after the show, but the decor has changed since I last visited. We also caught the earliest showing so nobody came out to schmooze
I suppose it was good for Alcuin that the Yellow & Black Knight *cough*JonSnow*cough* didn’t come and whisk me away! <3

We all received these awesome* cups as souvenirs too.
After the show, we had to head back to Hollywood! Val was going to a show later that night, and I had to meet up with some other friends to pick something up.
While at my friend Tim’s place, we discovered he had this awesome novelty shot glass:

Yep! All of the Anus you want to “eet”.
We met up with Amelia, Amy, and Kevin so we could catch the last hour of the Defective Geeks 5 Year Anniversary party at the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach!

They were doing a live podcast about the various aspects of geek and geek-girl lifestyles. I love Defective Geeks, they’re so legit.
They had some funny contests too, Alcuin got suckered into one where he had to read an excerpt of ‘Twilight’ but as ‘Vampire Hunter D’.

After the Defective Geeks party, we were pretty hungry. We dragged Chrissa and John along to a food adventure at In-n-Out.
At some point after ordering our food, Amelia somehow got shunned from the table. Perhaps because there weren’t enough chairs.
Why is it that In-N-Out never has anywhere to sit?
Well well, that’s nearly the end of February adventures! This weekend I’m actually attending the Makeup Show: Los Angeles with Amy! It’s been super fun so far if you’ve been following my twitter or my instagram.
Hope you guys are having an awesome week, stay dry though, it’s raining in LA!

Oh so cool !! i’m going to L.A in 6 weeks… i want to try this resturant
You should! It’s a bit expensive, but if you buy the tickets from Goldstar you’ll save about 15bucks!
