I’ve been dying to get my hands on a few things lately, and they’re all in the realm of kawaii and offensive.

Sorry it’s been so quiet lately, still settling into 2013!

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of participating in the Geeky Glamorous Art Show, celebrating all things girly and geek at JapanLA!

Being one of geeky origins myself, I was super excited to be part of this show. However, I couldn’t figure out what to do… I had so many ideas, so many geek related things I loved…

I spent most of my Winter racking my brain and living like a hikimori, celebrating my Weeaboo winter, in an attempt to be inspired. Then one  day, while riding the bus home, it came to me:

insert victorious Zelda music.

For those who don’t know, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is one of my most favourite games of all times. Back in college,  I used to play this game once a year for nostalgia sake.

Together with my love of Zelda and Otome games such as:

Hakuouki, and these two games (Ninja Love & My Sweet Prince) which spawned my dark spiral into otome game obsession, I was INSPIRED!

So I got to sketching, and came up with this idea for a faux Legend of Zelda otome game poster.

I went back and forth between SAI paint tool and Photoshop for this piece, just because both programs have different features that I loved.  I wanted to embed little nods to ALTP in my piece as well.

I wanted to portray Link and Zelda in (loosely) inspired Heian period clothing, but keep some of their details and color schemes from the original games. It was also difficult for me to choose hair colors that wouldn’t completely blend, as both characters are most notably portrayed as blondes.

This was my final piece! Some of you may have seen it posted on instagram or facebook.
I’m quite proud of this piece, simply because my blood and tears went into the details.

Maybe you’re all preparing for tonight’s Christmas feast? I know I am!
I got all decked out today for Christmas shindigs with my Sheinside cat sweater.

This year has been slightly sluggish for me, so I’m eager to welcome in 2013!
I do love Christmas though! It’s my favourite time of year for sure. And yes, I am one of those people who LOVES Christmas music.

Though I do hate SAD Christmas music.

This year my boyfriend got me a night set of lights for videos and photos. I’m actually using them for these photos.

Don’t mind Mycroft by the way, he loves the Christmas tree and refused to stay out of most of these shots.

I got my boyfriend a few gifts this year too. It was a small Christmas as I wasn’t working full time so we couldn’t go all out this year. It was still an amazing Christmas though!

As for New Year’s Eve, my boyfriend is going on an adventure to Middle Earth with his sister and mother… T__T so I’m staying in Los Angeles! I might do something small with a few friends though

Last weekend my boyfriend and I decided to go on a little shopping date in Little Osaka.
Since I had just received my two new jumpers from Sheinside.com, I decided to get into Kawaii Goth mode and dress up in my new Bat Wing Cross Jumper from Sheinside.

I feel good about being rather quick and simple with my looks lately. Sure, I still love color and cuteness as much as every other kawaii goth, but I also like being comfortable. Call it getting old, but nothing beats nice leggings, platform sneakers, and a big sweater.

I’m rather in love with this sweater too, it’s nice and roomy, but also really soft.
I actually also liked this sweater in the pink color, but alas I don’t usually wear tons of pink.

I know crosses, especially inverted ones, are all the rage right now. Perhaps some may say that tumblr has ruined it, I disagree.

I couldn’t care or complain though, I’m a fan. I have been lusting over various items in Sheinside’s CROSS section.
I am enamored with this blue velvet cross dress,  inverted cross leggings, cross chain necklace, and Cross cuff earring.

Luckily I had the forethought to take outfit snaps on my iphone before leaving the house. I curled my hair and dolled up but ran out of hair spray… awful right?! It also got really misty and foggy on the way back so my curls fell out!

And lastly, my make up shot.

Since I’ve dived back into the obsessive Anime watching while I draw “thing”, I’ve been obsessed with Shoujo Manga looks too. Big eyes, coloured hair, and lashes, it couldn’t be wrong.

It feels like such a long time since I’ve actually done an outfit post.

It was raining the day I took these photos. I may have mentioned previously, but Los Angeles is having some bi-polar weather this year. We’ve had bouts of 90 degree weather in the Fall with days of rain and cold weather.

Luckily, it’s never too cold that I cant’ just throw on a mint moto jacket and some tights.

For those wondering, My mint coloured moto jacket is from Nasty Gal! But I got it from the Lip Service warehouse store!

My shoes are from Y.R.U shoes.

There is also nothing that gets me in the mood to go jumping into space like industrial music.

If any of you have noticed, I’ve really laid off the heavy eye makeup recently.
Why? Mostly because I had a really bad string of eye infections during the summer, so I have been giving my eyes a break.
This weekend I went with simple blue glitter liner, a bit of lower liner, and some white eyeshadow as a high light.
What do you think?

Red lips are totally all my rage right now too since I’ve gone blue.

Today (11/17/12) IRON FIST is having their first sample sale at Japan LA on Melrose in Hollywood. I was able to make it in and get a few things with out breaking the bank. Granted, the prices were amazing.

I decided to make a little video of the crazy sample sale, and my haul:

All of these Iron Fist fans arrived pretty early! There was a line that wrapped around the block.
Not to worry though, there was so much stuff there! The staff was busy replenishing the stock as people tore them off the racks!

I’m really glad that size 8 is included in their sample size! Why? Because I’m a 7.5/8 in shoe sizes. I was able to snap up a pair of shoes that were perfect for me.

Though there was a predominately female attendance, the sale also included some samples from Iron Fist Men. My boyfriend, being the perfect sample size, was able to make off with a few hoodies and tops for really cheap.

Of course, I also got dolled up for the event. I didn’t get too dolled up though, it was rainy earlier in the morning so I tried to stay warm and avoid running mascara. Simple is best for a cold rainy LA day.
