Fantastic and Scary Food Adventures

March 12th, 2012 | No Comments

Now that my blog is back up and redirect-free, I’ll slowly be back-posting old entries that got eaten.
For now, we move on!

Before leaving the Bay Area back in February; Amy, Amelia, Val, Kevin, Brett, and myself had some last-minute food challenges.

Of course, that includes the famous Fenton’s Creamery. Some of you may not have realized it, but you’ve all been there with Russel, Dug, and Mr. Fredrickson of Pixar’s UP! Pixar of course has some of the best animation artist that have attended a graphic design college.

This place is gorgeous, and their ice cream is delicious. You can see why the creative team from UP! loved having their meetings here.

We were here for a meeting with our sandwiches and ice cream!

It was Val’s first time, so I was pretty excited for her. She had yet to experience the amazing flavors of Fenton’s!

Amy made her sandwich decision pretty quickly, probably because she comes here so often!

I like how Brett is thinking very hard.

In an unrelated comment, I discovered the “vivid colors” setting on my point and shoot Nikon. This translates to “glowing faces”. I like this setting.

Amelia got the Portobello burger. Portions were entirely too huge!

Val ordered these amazing “appetizer” of Chilli cheese fries. Everyone had a go, they were really tasty.

I wanted to go “light” and ordered a club sandwich. I didn’t realize it would come with 3 slices of bread! In the end I removed one slice, and only managed to eat 1 stack.

I wanted to leave room for the not-so-petite “petite ice cream scoop”.

I forgot to take pictures too! I always get the Toasted Almond flavoured ice cream at Fenton’s. I even got Val to order it too.
I highly recommend the Toasted Almond, it literally tastes like almonds bathed in refreshing holy water. I’m craving it now.

I also forgot to take the other 1/2 of my sandwich when we left :( That was a decision I regretted later, because everyone went to see Die Antwoord, but I decided to stay home.

The next day, call it humor, hang overs, or delusion… but we decided to order the Pizza Hut $10 BREAD BOX OF DEATH for laughs.

Amelia had seen a commercial the entire week, where a woman orders this box and dances for joy.

I blame Brett for the two pastas and the chicken wings… @___@

We  ate about 1 slice a piece and 1 bread stick, then we were out for the count.

It was all for that picture!

Now I’m trying to whip myself back into shape after 2 weeks of bad eating, wish me luck! Never again $10 Pizza box, never again.

in the mood for love

March 6th, 2012 | No Comments

I recently became officially sponsored by Sheinside.com in February!

They sent me this gorgeous, vintage inspired, red scalloped A-line dress that arrived last weekend.

Isn’t it beautiful?

I also posted this look on my lookbook.nu. If you’re on lookbook.nu and like this outfit, be sure to hype it!

The dress was just a tad too big around the middle, but I want to say that’s because I’ve been doing 100 crunches every hour during my work day for the past 3weeks! (HOORAY). I’ll have to take it in just a bit with my sewing machine.

I decided to wear this dress to the viewing of Conan yesterday, along with the leopard platform heels that I bought in San Francisco last year.

Going romantic for Co-Co!

I tried doing a few twirling shots, but I failed miserably.

Since the red was so bright, I decided not to go too over-the-top with my makeup; I mean besides the eyebrows.

I just dusted a bit of Goldilux over my lids and a bit of Smashbox’ Coffee shadow on the outer corners.

I’ve been trying to achieve that dewy look but I don’t think it comes as cross very well in photos.

I find that it’s also a lot easier to achieve with BB creams. I recently bought a Skin79 Diamond Absolute cream, so I’m testing that out this week. It works much better than the Misha one I used to have.

The makeup breakdown:

Well that’s it for now. And if you like my dress, do check out the good folks at Sheinside.com, they also have tons of fun wardrobe for decent prices too.

Much love.

Double Shrinkle Vision at Death Guild

March 6th, 2012 | 2 Comments

It seems like such a long time ago but it was really only a few weeks ago!

Amelia and Val went up to SF to play at Death Guild.

It was my first time at Death Guild, and I had a blast. Of course, Amy, Tess, and I were some of the most colorful people there.

I decided to dress up as Amy because we both thought it would be funny. In the end, it seemed like all of us unconsciously decided to do similar makeup… well except Amy.

Lucky for her we were all rocking Sugarpill so she was not completely shunned.

I looked surprised in most of the photos from that evening for some reason.

The best part about going out to SF was seeing my best friend Tess <3 BFFL!!

She’s going to be moving away from me (out of driving distance!!) so I am really happy to see her in person. Of course now that we have both upgraded to iphone 4s’ it’s probably not going to be hard getting face time with her.

I love Tess’ makeup. She literally taught me how to pretty up my face <3

I’ve tried being on top of getting makeup and outfit shots before I go out. I didn’t have time to do it at Amys that night, so I took some in the nice black tiled bathroom.

And here is my obligatory face chart. Anything not Sugarpill, is listed by brand.

Whoo hoo! I feel so productive! I’m almost out of February with my posts now.

Since Bubble Punch is doing a huge Japanese Street Fashion show with the Japan Consulate General on Saturday, I’ve been swamped with model fittings and coordination meetings with Michelle! We were able to take a CONAN break today.

Till tomorrow lovers.

iPHWNED!

March 4th, 2012 | No Comments

Well if you haven’t noticed, other than the epic hacking of dream host last week. I also had phone problems!

Eventually, I caved in and bought an iphone.

A few of my iphone happy friends immediately gave me advice about what apps I should get… so I got instagram. If you have it, you can follow me on instagram now under: yumeninja (duh).

Decorating photos with cats! Now that’s what I call technologically advanced.

I texted my brother the same day I received my iphone and this is what he sent me:

Yes, that’s from my brother aka ‘Yellow Delicious’ apparently.

Because I lost so many of my cat pictures on my old phone, I dedicated sometime to taking pictures of my cats.

After around 3 years of holding out I finally got a fancy phone. I admit it’s really handy. I was able to get bus time tables on my phone so I could meet up with my long time internet buddy Aneta!

Aneta was only in town for a few days before heading back to Australia so we took her out to Little Tokyo and Far Bar!

In other news, if you haven’t been catching up with me on Facebook, my co-founded event producing company, Bubble Punch was asked by the Japanese Consulate General of Los Angeles to help put together a Japanese Street Fashion show as part of their all day ‘Japan. Endless Discoverey‘ event on March 10, 2012!

Our fashion show in the late afternoon, featuring various Japanese Street Fashion genres as well as some sneak peeks at some upcoming Sanrio lines! Come out, have fun, support us, and help us help the Japanese Consulate General celebrate Japanese traditional and pop culture!

I leave you with this picture of me waiting for the bus after our model fitting:
