International Bad Girl

August 1st, 2012 | Comments Off

Straight from Australia, the babe-a-licious Bei Badgirl came to L.A. for a two-part visit back in May and June!

L.A. was her pit stop before heading out to a show in London. So we Cali girls gathered up our forces and made the most out of our International Girl Gang play dates.

Izzy, Jess, Tori, and Bei went and got their nails ‘did’ and afterwards we all had a mini pow-wow at B.A.D Sushi. We let Alcuin tag along…JK!

It’s the gathering of the blondes!

We were all pretty tired because we had such a long wait to get seated. Nothing bad on B.A.D sushi’s part, there were a lot of people out that night.

It was really awesome to catch up with Bei. I haven’t seen her since the Sanrio 50th Anniversary parties. Being one of my favourite Aussies (and you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Aussie girls!) Bei always brings the party.

Seaweed Salad and the Playboy roll! These are two of my favorite things to gobble up at B.A.D Sushi.

We ate, drank, and socialized… and then went back to Jessica’s place for a bit of catch up on ‘GIRLS’!

Even Bella was interested!

The next day Bei and Izzy declared it Barbie Monday! I decided to be Vintage Barbie and doll up a bit.

I was meeting Bei and Izzy at Cafe 50′s, but while I was walking over Bei met Adam Sandler!! Isn’t that incredible? I go there all the time but I’ve never met anybody haha.

We had made plans to meet up with Gala later in the evening too, but since we finished with our late lunch a bit early… we went off to the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade to do some shopping and hit up Happy Hour.

Bei, with her natural beach-babe good looks was a shoo-in for Beach Bunny Barbie. Izzy went for a more Metal Barbie look.
Funny enough, since my hair color had mostly washed out we looked like blonde-tourage.

After a few drinks and putting about, we were off to the beautiful Viceroy hotel to meet Gala!

This is the infamous green bathroom in the lobby of the Viceroy. It is quite stunning in person.

Bei and Gala were catching up, don’t they look so cute chatting?

After a few drinks and catching up, we had to run.

So we all went back to the washroom, since some of the other girls wanted to see how gorgeous it was. If any of you ever go to the Viceroy, seriously, this bathroom is worth checking out.

Outfit shot!

You would think after our food and drinks adventure, that we would have been full. But we weren’t.

We all had a solid craving for ramen, so we went back to Sawtelle and hit up Chabuya for some late night cheap ramen.

Then Bei was in town again for about a week or so in June, after returning from London. Before she said her official good byes, we caught up over some Meixcan food in Venice with Jessica and Rachel.

Remember this look? I was going for galactic waves. I bought myself a 3-barrel curling iron from goodwill and was testing it out.

Off we went to Lula Cocina Mexicano  in Venice to have a nice Sunday brunch.

I got a very delicious pomegranate margarita along with some tamales. The colorful atmosphere of the restaurant really sell you on the ‘beach’ lifestyle.

After brunch we all said our goodbyes!

I really hope that I’ll get a chance to visit Australia one day and see Bei in her her natural state <3 Just gotta make that paper and save up!

Well I hope you guys enjoy my catch up posts. I apologize for the lag in blogging and updates, I am working on revamping the site and getting everything in order. I haven’t forgotten about everyone, thanks for reading!

To slack off or to not slack off?

July 31st, 2012 | Comments Off

Actually I haven’t been slacking off at all!
I have actually been on a mega super hard core job hunt!

Along with that, I’ve been revamping things behind the scenes and getting ready for a whole new launch! I’m excited about it.

So bear with me, I hope to have this all up by the end of this week! :D Announcements will be made!

Open Space

July 23rd, 2012 | 5 Comments

Sure the ‘mermaid’ trend is hitting its summer high, but I’m not ready to cast off the galaxy prints. Space is the final frontier, so it’s got a lot more to give us before we say adieu!

I received this green galaxy print chiffon vest last week from Sheinside.com. As a printed light weight wardrobe piece, it really opens up the color options in my mostly dark wardrobe. Loose, belted, blacks, blues, greens, and greys… everything goes. It’s also really light weight so layering this over a tank top doesn’t work up a sweat in this 80 degree weather.

This starry top worked really well with my semi-casual weekend. It was perfect for hanging out at home and continuing my job hunt as well as putting on a pair of heels and going out for a day-time date with my boyfriend.

I’ve also posted my look on lookbook.nu and chictopia.com, so if you’d like to continue to see more outfit and style shots please hype me or vote for me! You can always follow me on either site for current updates as well.

I’d like to announce that silver-blonde Yume is also back for the summer. I’ve completely washed out all the pastels in my hair! Pastels were for IMATS only, so it’s nice to get back to my preferred state.

In attempts to match the colors of my vest, I used Sugarpill cosmetics in Acidberry, Mochi, Tako, and Bulletproof. I’m wearing NYX lipstick in ‘Tribute to Marilyn’, and I’m using some new Milani bronzer on my cheeks for contouring.

So what prints and trends are you guys all about this summer?

DIY Nerdy Fashion Ideas

July 3rd, 2012 | 6 Comments

Sugprise! Nerdy Fashion for Comic Con.

I’ve been a bit hush-hush about this project that Michelle and I (BubblePunch.com) have been working on with Suicide Girls and Meltdown Comics.

Suicide Girls and our buddies at Meltdown Comics first approached us with this awesome idea in the Spring. Of course we were extremely excited to be on board.

So if you’re going to comic con and need some quick, easy, and inexpensive costume ideas here’s some of ours, with a little help from Suicide Girls, Meltdown Comics, and American Apparel.

Here’s the first video, featuring our quickie Storm Trooper inspired dress:

And for those of you who’ve been watching, we’ve also got another video out this week! An quick and easy Battle Royale inspired outfit:

And always remember, you don’t have to be a master cosplayer to dress up, or even have exceptionally great sewing skills! All it takes is a bit of imagination and motivation.

Keep an eye out via instagram, twitter, and Bubble Punch’s facebook for our last video! It’s coming out next week, right in time for San Diego Comic Con, hope to see some of you guys there!

If you’re not going to comic con though, we have another surprise! Suicide Girls is throwing a kick off party this Saturday (July 7th, 2012) at Meltdowncomics. It’s free entry, and we’re also having a costume contest with prizes from both Metldown Comics and Suicide Girls!
